Another year older and (supposedly) another year wiser...

It feels like only yesterday that we were celebrating our first year in business, but here we are, turning the big T-W-O tomorrow (Saturday)!
It's a bit inconvenient that our two year anniversary falls on a weekend this year, so we thought we'd celebrate it today instead because Friday + cake = AWESOME!
We've also put together this cool infographic showing the highlights of our second year...

CoinCorner Achieves Designated Business Status [PRESS RELEASE]

Press Release - Thursday 5th May 2016
CoinCorner Achieves Designated Business Status
British bitcoin exchange CoinCorner has announced today that it has been awarded Designated Business status in the Isle of Man.
The title, granted by the Isle of Man Financial Services Authority (IOMFSA), took effect on Wednesday 4th May 2016 after CoinCorner successfully applied to become a Designated Business, following the introduction of The Designated Businesses (Registration and Oversight) Act last year.
The Designated Business Act
The Act came into force on 26th October 2015, after a proposal was put forward to place responsibility on the IOMFSA for the oversight of the adherence of certain businesses and professions to the Island’s anti-money laundering and countering the financing of terrorism legislation.
With the Isle of Man’s acceptance of bitcoin-friendly businesses well documented, Designated Businesses now also include those in “the business of issuing, transmitting, transferring, providing s…

Celebrating Women In Bitcoin - International Women's Day 2016

International Women's Day - 8th March 2016
Today is International Women's Day and I'm delighted to announce that CoinCorner are taking part by celebrating women in bitcoin.
The amount of women, or lack thereof, involved in the bitcoin industry around the world is widely reported. Research conducted by CoinDesk last year found that women in bitcoin are still a minority, with over 90% of bitcoin users identifying as male
As a woman in bitcoin, let me reassure you that although outnumbered, the passion of the women in this industry more than makes up for the lack of presence. Check out The Top 40 Women of Bitcoin(sadly I didn't make the list!)
One thing I feel I should make clear is that the number of women in bitcoin has nothing to do with barriers. Everyone currently involved in bitcoin is keen to see it succeed and for that to happen, there can be no discrimination. Bitcoin is an open-sourced project after all. Since joining CoinCorner last year (where, may I add, the tea…
